The Metaphysics of Existence

Modern Metaphysics Legacy, Volume 2

Treatise

There is a gap in the history of knowledge. From the Hermeticists and the Knights Templar, from the Rosicrucians and the Freemasons, to Newton’s Royal Society and modern science, metaphysical knowledge was passed down in closed circles. Panos Sakelis argues that this age of initiation is over: the baton must be passed to everyone.
The Metaphysics of Existence is the first systematic exposition of the philosophical system Modern Metaphysics, written as a treatise, with argument, analysis and structure, without internal digressions and without dogmatic brackets.
The treatise unfolds in eleven chapters. It begins with the Architecture of Creation: three simultaneous aspects, Theogony, Cosmogony, Cosmology, which are not successive events but facets of one and the same act. Next comes Man as Form and as Purpose: the “Idea of Man” exists as an archetype before any biology, and its incarnation is not accidental but necessary, because the Absolute needs a mirror in order to know itself.
From there, the analysis descends to the Biological Equipment, to Memory and the Unseen, to the Epistemological Spiral, which describes how knowledge grows helically, not linearly. It then opens to the relation of Man and World and Man and Other, examines the Trials of the Vessel, the obstacles the incarnated consciousness is called to face, and arrives at Action as the natural conclusion of theory, at the Temptation of Power as the human weak point, and at Spiritual Navigation as the road of return.
Science is not absent: evolution is recognized as a mechanism, but Sakelis shows why it cannot also be a purpose. Biological complexity explains how we got here. It does not explain what we do now that we have arrived.
